The Gaia Wiki
How to play
- How to Join
Enter the ip mc.emeraldearth.xyz (On bedrock the port is: 19132)
When inside the lobby, do /gaia or right click the nether star, then select Gaia.
When you load into Gaia, you will be located in the Spawn world. All NPCs can be spoken to by right clicking. These NPCs can give vital info on how to play or mechanics in the server. To get out, do /rtp
To see where you are in the world, do /map or click this link.
Make sure to read the rules on /rules
- Towns and Nations
When in the place you want to protect or claim, do /t new <townname>
After executing the command, do /confirm
After the town has been created, the chunk you are standing in will be protected. You can check the chunk borders with F3 + G (this does not work on Bedrock)
To claim more chunks, deposit money into the town bank using /t deposit <money amount>. You can also use the town menu (/tm) to do a large amount of commands from one input.
You may find yourself running out of chunks to be able to claim. When this happens, you can buy more chunks by doing /t buy bonus <amount>
To invite people to your town, do /t invite <username>. To accept, do /t accept
You may soon want to create your own Nation after obtaining a good amount of people in your town or towns wanting to join forces with you. To create a nation, do /n new <nation name> with the proper amount of funds in the town bank.
To get more information on how the war system works, do the /war command in game to open a menu with options ranging from a war wiki to server war changes and economy aspects.
Money in the Gaia server is gold based, meaning you have to mine for it.
After obtaining gold ingots through smelting, do /gold to open a menu to transfer your gold into Virtual Gold to use for your town, nation and for wars.
Gold Nuggets can still be used to craft gold, however it takes 27 gold ingots in the crafting grid to craft 1 Raw Gold.
On Gaia, religion does exist. No, this is not a religious server intended to instill religious ideals. This is purely fantasy.
To join a religion, do /religion join
To create a religion, first you must have an Ancient Text book only available in one of the 10 monuments scattered throughout Gaia. You must also have 50 XP Levels.
When creating a religion, you can also pick between founder perks and follower perks to give to you and the followers.
Religions can be based upon anything under the rules, but it is insisted that they are created with influence from lore in a book found within the monument.
Ancient Texts can also be found very very very rarely from Deity Events, which happen randomly and have varying interaction with the world it is in.
Speak to Johannis the Religious in spawn for further lore and help.
On Gaia, there is a Brewery plugin that allows you to create your own drinks, such as vodka, coffee, wine, and more. This is not meant to instill habits or ideas of drinking or consumption of alcohol in real life.
To create some drinks, follow these steps.
Fermenting: Place Cauldron over a Fire or other heat source. Fill it with water. Add Ingredients with a rightclick. Wait a few minutes while they ferment. Fill in glass bottles.
Distilling: Some Recipes don't need distilling. Put the bottle with ferment into the brewing stand. Put glowstone dust as filter on top into the brewing stand (The filter will not be consumed)
Aging: A barrel is needed for aging of certain drinks. Starting in 1.14 the Minecraft-Barrel can be used for aging of a few brews. Simply craft and place the barrel and put the brews inside. You can also build bigger barrels. They can be built in two ways:
Small barrel | 9 Slots: Use 8 wooden stairs to build a barrel shape. Place a Sign on the lower right side and write "Barrel" in the upper Line. Image here.
Big barrel | 27 Slots: Use 5 Fences, 16 Wooden stairs, and 18 wood planks to build a barrel shape. Attach a Spigot (Fence) and a Sign that has "Barrel" written on it. Image here.
Each barrel can be opened by right clicking.
Drinking: The Amount of Alcohol inside the Brew will be applied to the player when drinking. Depending on the quality of it, that may have different effects.
The Player may not be able to walk normally anymore, he will weave, making it almost impossible to walk straight
Effects like Blindness, Confusion, Poison etc. occur
The Chat will be altered depending on drunkeness, many things players write may be incomprehensible, sometimes it seems senseless
If the Alcohol particularly strong, it may have poisonous effects
After drinking a lot, there is a chance of vomiting
When logging off, the player may have difficulties reaching his character, thus some logins shortly after may be denied
After Overdrinking the player may faint (Disconnecting)
After drinking it takes a while until the alcohol is completely gone. During that time the alcohol level is steadily decreasing. When logging off extremely drunk, it may happen that, if the player logs back in after a while, he may find himself at an completely unknown place in the middle of nowhere having no idea how he got there. But if he logs back in after some hours or next morning, he will find himself at /home, again without any memories. Also if the Alcohol was not of best quality, the player may face some bad type of hangover (slowness and hunger).
On Gaia, you can create your own custom ship to sail across oceans, and even have battles with!
To create a ship, you must have 25% of the ship be made out of wool, and have 25 blocks that make up the ship minimum.
A ship can look like almost anything, but it MUST be in water to work.
To license a ship as yours, create a sign attached to the ship that looks like this. Change trigger281 to your name.
To make it so the ship moves, you must place a sign facing the opposite direction of what you want it to move, and the sign looks like this. On the sign, it will show a speed on the bottom, which you can right click to increase it. To decrease speed, sneak and right click the sign. The max is 5. Left click to move forward.
To rotate a ship, place a sign that looks like this. Right click the sign to rotate to the right, left click to rotate to the left.
How to become staff
- How to Become Staff
Becoming an Emerald Universe staff member is one of the best things you can do to increase your respect from the owners and the players, as well as the server.
Firstly, be mature, don't start arguments and be active among the community. Breaking rules will most likely result in you not becoming staff, and if you already are, you could be demoted.
After around two to three weeks after your first join date and a few days of playtime, apply using this link. Answer the questions respectfully and the fullest you can, with length.
Do NOT ask about your application, as the Owner will review them in time. Arguing over a denial of your application will most likely mean that you will never become staff. Keep in mind, a denial doesn't mean that the Owner or staff team does not like you, it's that they do not see you fit at that time, or there are too many.
- How to do Politics
Politics on the server is somewhat easy to understand if you know what you're doing.
If you'd like to gain prominence and respect amongst the community, simply help out, do good acts and support people.
If you'd like to become powerful, just get a bunch of wealth and don't do anything stupid or immoral with it, and people could respect you for it.
However, let's be honest, politics in a Minecraft server is nowhere near clear cut, and always changes. Be you!
